Job overview

We are looking to appoint a History teacher to start 1 September 2020.

Bitterne Park School is a large community school with a strong tradition of academic achievement. We provide an excellent education for 11-19 year olds, set within the Bitterne Park community. Our core values of Respect, Achievement, Community, Enjoyment and Relationships underpin all that we aim to be.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reflective teacher to positively contribute to our growing team of History teachers. We are a flourishing and over-subscribed school, with high expectations of all our students, and a commitment to the personal and professional development of our staff. As an established Teaching School we offer our staff access to an excellent NQT programme, a broad range of high-quality training and the opportunity to work in various capacities with colleagues from our partner schools.

The candidate should be able to teach History to all ages to at least Key Stage 4. We welcome applications from NQTs and more experienced teachers.

If you think you excel at encouraging students to be independent enquirers of the past, we would be delighted to consider your application.

Closing date: 20 January 2020

Interview: 29 January 2020
