Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge will be a new academy within the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust, transferring to the trust in March 2018. The flagship academy, Trinity Academy Halifax is a model of excellence for the growing number of academies and free schools joining the trust. The team behind the success at Trinity are working to help those joining our trust to replicate their successes in improving the outcomes for children and young people.

Sowerby Bridge has a new leadership team in place, led by an Executive Principal.  Through robust, clear systems and support; we can ensure that teachers can focus on developing their teaching.  Our mantra of ‘Culture & Consistency = Excellence’ is something that we are proud of and all staff support us to maintain this philosophy.

Aspirations and ambitions are high, and the trust’s outstanding leadership team will embed targeted and effective support, which is based on world class, proven systems.  The vision is to transform education at Sowerby Bridge, with the intention of providing an outstanding education to students.  With the support from Trinity Academy this is a realistic and achievable goal, which has been shown through the results and outcomes of the flagship academy.

All of these fantastic and exciting initiatives require the expertise and commitment of dedicated staff and Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is currently looking to appoint a HLTA (Alternative Provision). The alternative provision is based at Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge and will be crucial to the success of some of our vulnerable students. Working under the direction of the Alternative Provision Co-Ordinator, you will provide learning support to the programme, meeting the specific needs of individual students, or a small group of students, as directed.

Knowledge or experience of teaching, covering groups or whole classes (students 11-16) is desirable, but not essential, and you will also possess some experience of planning, either for lessons or for extra-curricular activities.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).

The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focused on improving outcomes for our students. Comprehensive pastoral systems are embedded to ensure the behaviour of students is outstanding and they are happy and supported in their learning.

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress.
