Are you looking for a fresh challenge? Or a next step in your career?

We're looking for a HLTA (Lead Support Staff) to lead and line manage the secondary site support staff.

The role would also include coaching and mentoring, facilitating induction programmes, monitoring absence of staff, probation paperwork, and running team meetings half termly to gain staff voice.

If you haven't experience of secondary, this isn't essential as long as you're up for the challenge and have had previous experience in another setting with children, e.g. a primary school instead or team leading a children's home.

Are you the type of person who:

-Is able to relate to others quickly?

-Can think quickly on their feet?

-Is resilient and energetic?

-Can stick to boundaries and ensure YPs understand society when they leave?

The role will be the equivalent of 4 days with the young people and 1 day leadership time.

We believe that all our pupils are entitled to high quality learning experiences where staff enthuse and support.

Qualities we are also looking for:

  • Understanding strong behaviour management
  • Passionate about making a difference to some of the most vulnerable children
  • A team player with a sense of humour

Previous experience of working within mental health, behaviour or have experienced working with those with trauma is preferred. Experience of line managing staff isn't essential if you have the desire and willingness to learn.

We are a flexible and fun team to work in. Retainment is high and staff feedback is exceptional.

In return, we can offer you:

  • Breakfast and lunch provided daily
  • Free car parking
  • Uniform provided
  • Experienced and enthused team that think outside of the box
  • High quality CPD
  • 8.30am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday
  • Term time only contracts so every school holiday off
  • Protected five inset days for your learning and development
  • Support with teaching assistant qualifications and NVQs
  • Healthshield cashback scheme
  • A staff wellbeing and mental health focus throughout all our decisions

The Place Independent School is for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). The school opened a few years ago and we run from Year 2 to Year 13. The role will be working on our secondary site (age 13-16) who have had lots of safeguarding and mental health trauma stemming over years.

We would love to hear from you if this sounds like an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss!

Closing date 19th of June- Closing date may end early and interviews commence for the right candidate.
