Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:12pm, with 30 minute unpaid lunch break.


We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Literacy Specialist) to join the team at the Howard of Effingham School. 

The successful applicant will support identified students with special educational needs and/or disabilities to enable them to access the curriculum.  In addition, the postholder will plan and run small group English withdrawal groups and will line manage the team of Learning Support Assistants.

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and listening skills with a commitment to helping each student achieve their full potential. A HLTA qualification is essential for this role (consideration will be given to candidates working towards their HLTA qualification).

This position may be of interest to people who wish to consider a career in teaching to get classroom experience prior to commencing teacher training.
