Job overview

Our client is a co-educational school which delivers educational programs for up to 162 remanded and sentenced young people. The staff help to improve the knowledge, skills and abilities of the students, many of whom have had disrupted or negative experiences of schooling.

The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school and has a teaching and learning philosophy based on high yield teaching strategies, common teaching practices and a teams-based approach. A high priority is given to developing teacher capacity through collegial engagement practices. 

The employment entitlements offer an exciting opportunity for some flexible work agreements. Through negotiation, the successful applicant will determine whether a regular or alternative school holiday model is accessed.

About the Role:  

  • Term 1 | 2022 Start   
  • Full-time | 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.   
  • Experience in vocational training and a current TAE40116 qualification will be highly regarded.   
  • Both Primary and Secondary trained teachers are encouraged to apply.   
  • A great work-life balance via flexible work arrangements.

Selection Criteria:  

  • Be suitably qualified with an Education Teaching Degree (qualification must be recognised in Australia)   
  • Be registered, or have the ability to be registered with QCT   
  • Ability to provide current and relevant teaching references from Middle Management/Executive Leadership level (please note referees will not be contacted prior to your express approval, and all applications are treated in complete confidentiality)   
  • Have the right to work in Australia
