Hours: This role is based around up to 37 hours per week, 34 weeks per year. However hourly paid contracts are variable and as such the hours can increase or decrease according to business needs

We take a highly inclusive and individualized approach to enable students to thrive and progress in study programmes ranging from Entry level to Level 2.
The Role
Learning Support Assistants focus on ensuring the provision of appropriate support for students with Special Educational needs and/or disabilities in class and in breaks throughout the day. They focus on helping students to develop independence in learning and life skills. Support may be provided to students who have learning, medical, physical, sensory, personal care, life and social skills, emotional and/or mental health needs.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:
- Qualifications at Level 2 standard with experience of working with young people and adults in education or care settings.
- Experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, including those with personal care needs, is highly desirable
- A flexible, reliable and innovative approach to the demands of supporting young people

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.
Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
