Ampleforth College seeks to appoint a practising Roman Catholic Housemistress to start in September 2018.
The Housemistress represents pastoral support for all students within the House and is responsible for all aspects of the welfare and formation of the students in their care. This is a demanding and immensely rewarding role where no two days are ever the same.
The successful candidate will have a PGCE or equivalent; any relevant subject offered by Ampleforth College will be acceptable. Housemistresses teach a reduced timetable of about half, and many Housemistresses and Housemasters contribute to games or co-curricular activities.
We are seeking an experienced teacher who is interested in the formation of young people and in developing a culture of delight in learning within the house.
The position comes with family accommodation and a range of benefits.
The closing date for applications will be Wednesday 28th February 2018 at 3pm.
Interview dates will be confirmed.
The Ampleforth Abbey Trust, St Laurence Education Trust and its Schools are committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people. They expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and will ensure that all recruitment and selection practices and procedures reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) along with other relevant employment checks.
