As a result of career progression of the current Housemaster, Shrewsbury School has an exciting opportunity to appoint an inspirational Housemistress/ Housemaster to take over in School House from September 2018. Please note that applications are invited for a September 2018 start, but also for as soon as possible afterwards if necessary. 

Houses at Shrewsbury are particularly known for their caring and supportive atmosphere, blending traditional values with excellent pastoral care. As Housemistress/ Housemaster, your principal responsibility will be to ensure boys’ happiness, welfare and progress, and you will be a crucial link in communication between parents and the School. Our tradition is also for Housemistress/ Housemaster to contribute strongly to the academic and wider life of the school, albeit with a reduced timetable. 

To be successful, you will be a dynamic and resourceful individual; you will be a first-class teacher and embrace the ethos of a full boarding school. Previous experience of boarding is essential. There will be an excellent package of administrative support. The House provides outstanding family accommodation.
