We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic applicant to join our team of Housemistresses and Housemasters in this thriving all-boarding community. This is a vital position and an ideal role for someone looking to develop their career in pastoral leadership.
The position is in one of our six Lower School Houses for girls aged 11-16, and is available from April or September 2020. All Housemasters and Housemistresses are members of the academic staff, teaching a reduced timetable and leading a team of House staff, as well as taking overall academic and pastoral responsibility for the pupils in their House. This is an important, demanding and rewarding role.
Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 240 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with 190 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace.
We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are soon to be opening our new state-of-the-art Hall and Music School.
