Essa Foundation Academies Trust are seeking to recruit a hard working, talented HR professional to join their HR team. Based in our Central offices in Great Lever, Bolton, the successful candidate will be joining a supportive, happy team and will work alongside an experienced HR Manager.

The HR team work as part of the Central support team for the Trust and, alongside our colleagues in Finance, provide an efficient, professional HR advisory and support service to all academies within the Trust.

The role of HR Advisor is a newly created role, designed to support the HR Manager with operational HR matters. This is a true generalist role and the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for staff and manager queries on all HR matters. The HR Advisor will undertake employee relations case work, such as grievance, disciplinary and absence management, as well as assisting with recruitment, onboarding (including safeguarding checks), induction and all HR related administration.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and be a real ‘people person’ who is able to effectively communicate at all levels.  Although being a great team player is important, our new HR Advisor will be confident to work autonomously, using their initiative to solve problems and create solutions.

We would prefer candidates to hold a level 5 qualification in HR (e.g. CIPD) or be working towards with a good level of experience. You may be an experienced HR Assistant ready to take the step into an Advisor role, or an already experienced HR Advisor looking to further their experience within the education sector.

The working hours for the role are Mondays to Thursdays 8.00am to 4.00pm and Fridays 8.00am to 3.30pm (working hours are negotiable) on an all year round basis. The Central team currently work one day a week from home, subject to organisational requirements.

The salary offered for this role is between £25,000 and £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience and qualifications. We offer 23 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays), rising to 28 days after 5 years’ service.

This role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, with the possibility of being made permanent.
