We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic and supportive team member with a passion for working in HR and a desire to give young people the best life chances. The HR Advisor will be a key member of the HR Team in this busy and vibrant Sixth Form College, reporting to the Human Resources Manager. The HR Adviser will have an important role in shaping the College’s approach to employee relations, and will take on varied and sometime complex casework, resolving performance, grievance and disciplinary issues. They will assist line managers and employees offering professional and pragmatic HR advice and support.
Working closely with the HR Manager, the HR Adviser will also contribute towards the development and implementation of the College’s Human Resource Strategy and HR Plan, and ensure that the HR service provided to managers and staff is of a consistently high standard.
The post is a pivotal one in the College’s strategy to develop and sustain a high performing workforce. Due to the varied nature of caseload the HR Advisor will be involved with, and the need to ensure closure within reasonable timescales, the role requires a willingness to work flexibly and collaboratively with the HR Manger and the College’s Leadership Team.
This is a part-time post working 15 hours per week, all year round. Hours of work will be flexible but there will be a requirement to work over either two or three days per week, one of these being a Friday. Consideration would be given to making this role term time only for the right candidate.
The salary range for this role is between points 33-35 on the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine, currently £26,330 – £28,090 full time equivalent (Pro-rata £10,674 – £11,388).

We also have strong relationships with charity and other local and national interest groups, all working together to ensure that the young people of North East Lincolnshire, Greater Lincolnshire and further afield, see a clear line of sight to their goals and aspirations. Our Franklin Professionals Programmes are designed to engage those young people who have the very highest and clearest aspirations; from the Grimsby Town FUTSAL Programme to our Career Academies in Logistics and Law for example.
We are also a founder member of the Venn Group, working in partnership with four other Sixth Form Colleges in our wider region (John Leggott, Wyke, Wilberforce and Scarborough). This group forms an engine for quality improvement and staff development in the area.
