The School 

The King’s School Gloucester has a rich academic tradition dating back to its founding in 1541. Main Duties

Recruitment

  • Administer and coordinate the recruitment and selection process from end to end
  •  Monitor the Recruitment mailbox and recruitment channels
  • Fully utilise the Applicant Tracking System
  • Support managers in preparing job descriptions and place job adverts on the ATS and all media outlets
  • Provide support to recruiting managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring they are fully up to date with progress
  • Prepare interview packs, as required
  • Liaise with candidates as appropriate to ensure they have an excellent candidate experience
  • Support managers in ensuring the recruitment process is fair, transparent and that reasonable adjustments are accommodated where possible
  • Ensure full compliance with mandatory pre-employment checks such as reference checks and online searches
  • Keep up to date with new recruitment and regulatory requirements and HR related policies and procedures that affect this role, including data retention schedules
  • Build an on-boarding journey for all new recruits
  • Constantly seek out new and emerging recruitment best practice and identify opportunities for improvement in internal policies, processes and practices 

HR

  •  Proactively manage the HR database, ensuring details are updated in a timely and accurate way, including for starters, changes, leavers, absence, etc.
  • Manage staff leavers and documentation
  • Actively manage and monitor probation progress
  • Ensure that compliance trackers are updated in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in our full HR offering, policies, processes and practices
  • Support activities across the full spectrum of HR, including being involved in ad hoc projects as required

General Responsibilities & Cover Provision

  •  Work effectively as a member of the general administration team, communicating information efficiently and effectively to team members as required
  • Provide support and cover to the wider administration teams
  • Contribute to process improvement
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Accept ownership for timely and accurate completion of tasks, within deadlines
  • Promote and share a good working environment; one of mutual respect and trust
  • Any other duties as required, and commensurate with the role 

Personal Profile

 Essential

  •  Good standard of education including GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in an administrative role in a busy environment
  • Excellent relationship builder
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive, forward-thinking and self-motivated
  • The ability to act with integrity and to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to work as part of a team

 Desirable

  •  Working knowledge of HR processes and practices
  • Experience of recruitment processes and procedures
  • Experience of working in a school
  • Experience of ATS Systems 

Salary

 The salary for this role is £25,993 per annum. 

Hours of work

The post is full-time: 37.5 hours per week; 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility may be required and occasional extra hours may be required at evenings and weekends with additional remuneration for extra hours worked. 

Holidays

Holiday entitlement will be 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays, rising to 30 days per annum after 5 years of service.

The King's School, Gloucester has a rich academic tradition as one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541.
