The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools wish to appoint an HR Apprentice to join our central HR Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in HR, gain a recognised level 3 qualification in HR, CIPD accreditation and develop skills and knowledge of HR policies and procedures. You will gain insight into how HR services are managed across our schools, whilst working as part of a friendly and supportive team.

As this is an entry level position previous HR or administrative experience is not required. We are looking to appoint someone with people skills, who strives to go over and above to help people and is keen to learn and develop a new range of skills. 

Created in 2008, the Federation educates over 3000 students in Lewisham and comprises Prendergast School, Prendergast Vale School and Prendergast Ladywell School. The group is a hard federation made up of both voluntary aided and foundation schools and, as such, benefits from being more autonomous than other groups. The Federation enjoys a close relationship with The Leathersellers’ Company which dates back to the 15th Century.

The role is based in Prendergast School although there will be a requirement to visit our other schools. You will work 35 hours a week throughout the year and be employed on a fixed term contract for 18 months. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • GCSE English and Maths Level 4 or equivalent
  • A confidential and approachable manner
  • Experience of using a range of software packages including MSWord, Excel, email and internet
  • An ability to work as part of a team and a flexible approach to adapt to changing work requirements.
