About the role:
With over 2,300 staff Leigh Academies Trust is one of the biggest employers in the South East and the HR team plays a vital role in ensuring every one of them reaches their full potential. As a HR intern you’ll learn the skills and characteristics needed to be part of this team and play a vital role in onboarding our new employees for the next academic year. Our intern programme gives you the opportunity to gain some HR experience in a busy and friendly HR team and is therefore great for anyone currently studying an HR related course or someone looking to get onto the HR career ladder.
This is an 8-10 week internship in which you’ll thrive and have a chance to see how different parts of the HR. Your main responsibility will be processing and onboarding new starters but you may also be involved in other projects.
This opportunity is based at our Strood Head Office and is for 37 hours per week.

Leigh Academies Trust is one of the country’s largest and most-established multi-academy trusts operating across Kent, Medway and South East London. The Trust was formed in 2008 with the linking of the Leigh Technology Academy and Longfield Academy under one governing body. Today, we encompass more than 20,000 students between the ages of 2 months and 19 in over 30 primary, secondary and special academies including one all-through academy and one grammar school.
In addition to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all of our children, aged from 2 months to 19 years, and their families, we are proud to provide many opportunities for lifelong learning. These are delivered through the organisations under our umbrella: Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, LAT Apprenticeships and Kent and Medway Training (KMT), which delivers routes into teaching.
