Job overview

Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the trust’s Northern Region (Tees Valley) who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

Working at Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an incredible opportunity to support disaffected and vulnerable students. You will be instrumental in re-engaging them and improving their academic performance. The successful candidate needs to be extremely organised, IT literate, and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

We are looking for two teaching assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding accordingly to their individual needs. The Centre is located on Burns Road, Eston in a modern building with excellent facilities.

If you have any questions regarding the post, please email Polly Galloway, PA to Principal, at p.galloway@eston.outwood.com or telephone 01642 374792.

About Outwood Alternative Provision Eston

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Chief Executive Principal: Julie Slater

Executive Principal: Steve Merifield

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

Operating much smaller classes than our mainstream academies, this alternative provision focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour. We will focus on ensuring that all students can achieve well and are able to move to their next stage with confidence, be it education, employment or training.
