Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire spread across two main campuses – one in the heart of the lively market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on an 850-acre estate at Brooksby. The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement in November of 2016 and our objective is to be judged an “Outstanding” College within the next five years. As part of this journey both our campuses have been redeveloped, bringing new facilities and improved environments for all our students and staff.

The College is a highly regarded employer within the region and we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated HR Officer to join the HR team to continue to establish the department as a key function, adding value within the College.

Reporting to and supporting the Human Resources and Payroll Manager the successful candidate will effectively contribute to the day to day operation of the Human Resources function.

You will deliver a highly effective Human Resources service by providing expert advice and guidance on day to day policy and process matters. You will attend disciplinary, grievance and absence hearings to support the Human Resources and Payroll Manager and take notes. The post holder will also be involved in the recruitment and staff development procedures and actively contribute to a diverse range of HR related projects.

We would like to hear from applicants who have substantial experience in a generalist Human Resources role; a mature approach and confidence in communicating at all levels; outstanding service delivery and the ability to ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory and sector requirements.

You will be disciplined with a “right first time” work ethic with regard to maintaining personnel records and administration, and able to work autonomously, setting personal deadlines and goals. You will be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office programmes and familiarity with HR management software systems would be an advantage.

Public sector experience and a qualification in Human Resources, would also be a distinct advantage.
