About Us

LAB endeavours to cultivate authentic engagement in an all-through academy. Transdisciplinary study is structured through a cycle of exploration, expression, and exposition to provide deep learning. Educators come to school every morning ready to work alongside their peers and students to co-create original learning experiences that are responsive and relevant.

LAB seeks to be at the forefront of learner-driven education, and we continue to push the envelope of what is possible in education. We trust that children are instinctual learners, and we value partnering with them on their educational path. To be here, is to work side by side lovingly and in full support of the children who populate this place with their dreams, attempts and ideas. We ask teachers to think big, improvise and learn alongside students. By taking the best practices from early childhood education and project-based, experiential learning, we strive to meet students' needs in a flexible, mixed-age environment that breaks the traditional walls between school and the community outside the classroom.

LAB is going into its third year in a new building complex in Central Bournemouth serving Reception, Years 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 with up to 600 students. At capacity, we will have 1510 students, serving ages from 4 to 18.

If you are looking for a forward-thinking, innovative institution that embodies visionary leadership and embraces diversity, then LAB is the place for you!
