
Humanities Teacher
Thorp Academy– a Northern Education Trust Academy has an exciting opportunity for a Humanities Teacher starting in September 2021. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach humanities to a range of year groups. We are also looking for someone who has experience of teaching A Level Sociology, Psychology or Law who can teach students in our well established Sixth Form.
The successful candidate must be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire pupils and encourage a passion for learning. Thorp is a mixed, 11-18 academy with an increasing role and over 1150 students including a sixth form with over 160 students.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Build positive relationships with all children, staff and parents.
Demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and high expectations.
Show good classroom practice and be committed to developing children as independent learners and thinkers.
Promote learning based on using good subject knowledge.
Contribute to the drive for high expectations of achievement, attainment and behaviour across the Academy.
