Job overview

We are looking for a creative, practical Humanities Teacher to join our team from September 2021.

We wish to recruit someone who shares our vision that all pupils should leave with the skills to be able to appreciate Humanities and relate it to the world they live in.  You will engage pupils and make learning enjoyable, ensuring they have the skills they’ll need for years to come.

You must be thoroughly dedicated and committed to driving standards and raising achievement through the delivery of outstanding lessons. We encourage both NQTs and experienced Teachers to apply.

About us

We opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, we have quickly  gone from strength to strength.

A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'. We were also runner up at the 2020 National SEN awards for National Most Inclusive Practice.

Both our Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust are committed to supporting pupils and staff alike. Providing pupils with the highest-quality education is of the utmost importance but we recognise that in order to achieve this, our staff team must be properly supported with strong leadership, a climate of trust, research and innovation, and ongoing CPD opportunities.

In return

We are part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) which has a proven track record in school improvement. The Trust provides centralised services and support to enable staff to focus on teaching. Being part of the Trust means that we are able to share specialist best practice and work collaboratively with colleagues in other academies.

As a GAT employee, you will receive excellent opportunities for career progression and access to bespoke CPD from our Learning Alliance to enhance your professional growth.

For NQTs looking to join the Trust you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together.

This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.
