IB Diploma Coordinator

St George Madrid is a fast growing, but young school within the St George´s Group of Schools in Spain and is located in a prime educational zone to the North of the capital. The school has recently merged its secondary and primary campuses onto a single site, with new purpose built facilities. The school has seen significant growth in recent years, with potential for more. The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner, preferably with experience of leading an IB Diploma programme. We have recently started the programme in school,  with our second cohort starting this September, so this represents a great opportunity to mould and develop a fledgling programme. There is a teaching commitment of approximately half of a normal teacher and we have some flexibility in the subject areas that this could be in. As part of the secondary leadership team, the successful candidate would be expected to lead in developing the school´s IB Diploma programme, working closely with the Head of Secondary, Pastoral leads and secondary Heads of Department. Organization of the programme is an essential part of the role and the successfully candidate would be required to liaise directly with the IBO to ensure successful delivery of the programme and its associated external and internal assessments. As an international school we expect all of our staff to commit to the life of the school, through our after-school programme and events and activities going on throughout the year. A commitment to educating the whole child, emphasis on high levels of pastoral care and an inclusive approach to education will be of the utmost importance as we make the final appointment. As our students come to us from a range of different backgrounds and with varying needs, an interest in raising attainment across all ability levels is very important. Candidates will also need to demonstrate evidence of being a strong team player as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations, with a flexible approach to problem solving. We follow an adapted English National Curriculum across our primary and secondary schools, leading to examination at IGCSE and IB Diploma.
