IB DP & MYP Sciences Teacher – Full Time

We are looking for a passionate and innovative educator with a strong background in one or more IB DP subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Systems & Societies, Physics, or Psychology), as well as experience teaching MYP Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IB methodologies, a commitment to inquiry-based learning, and the ability to engage students in critical thinking, research, and practical scientific exploration.

In addition to teaching, the role includes responsibilities as a Homeroom Teacher, as well as teaching duties such as Extended Essay supervision and Student Committee facilitation, supporting students in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching IB MYP Sciences and at least one DP subject (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Systems & Societies, Physics, or Psychology), ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Supporting students holistically to help them achieve their best potential, including guiding them through their Internal Assessments and Collaborative Sciences Project in DP.
  • Designing and implementing assessments that support student learning and provide valuable feedback, ensuring students are fully prepared for the next stages of their education.
  • Encouraging critical thinking, experimentation, and hands-on inquiry, integrating real-world applications of science into lessons.
  • Ensuring high standards of health and safety in the science labs, following best practices in laboratory management, supervision of practical work, and risk assessments.
  • Supporting students as a Homeroom Teacher, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervising Extended Essays, Personal Projects, and guiding students through independent scientific research and academic writing.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning opportunities across subjects, and playing a key role in activities and initiatives school wide for the development of Sciences
  • Maintaining a supportive and inclusive classroom environment through strong interpersonal skills and positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Psychology, or related discipline).
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching at Secondary school level, in an international context.
  • Alignment and experience with IB curriculum, or similar, approaches.
  • Experience designing engaging and effective assessments to monitor and support student progress.
  • Experience guiding student-led research and inquiry-based projects.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements in science labs, ensuring safe and responsible experimentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic international and diverse school environment.

The candidate must have strong proficiency in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills suitable for an academic and international environment. Holding an EU passport and/or having relevant work authorisation for France is an advantage. The ability to teach an additional IB subject or lead an after-school activity would also be beneficial.
