About Dresden International School

Dresden International School is an all-through, mainstream, independent educational establishment for girls and boys aged between one and 19 years old. It is based in Dresden, in the Federal Republic of Germany. The day school was established by community leaders and the government from Stadt Dresden and Land Sachsen in 1996. The students are able to get the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. When the school first opened, there were only around 13 students on the roll. At the moment, there are more than 540 students enrolled at the school. It is a charitable limited company. The pupils are taught through the medium of English.

Dresden International School aims to give the pupils an outstanding education by providing them with excellent teaching and an enriching curriculum. The hope is for the students to pursue their dreams by working hard and demonstrating their talents. The pupils are taught how to behave in the multicultural and diverse world they live within. Extra-curricular activities are encouraged and the children who take advantage of them are highly valued. This includes a range of sports activities, such as badminton, golf, volleyball, cross country and soccer. The pupils are taught how to work as a team. They learn how to listen to others and how to lead a group of people. Even though students learn through the English language, they are also able to learn Russian, German and Japanese, as well as over 20 different languages.
