About your school

Established in 1972, Dover Court International School in Singapore is one of the leading inclusive British international schools in South East Asia.

The school caters to students from age 3 to age 18. The curriculum is based upon the UK EYFS framework, the National Curriculum for England, the IPC, IGCSE/GCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. The school is active in the local International School sports league and are extremely competitive across a number of sports. The school has an extensive programme of residential trips starting in Year 4 and continuing up into the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. All students are involved in a wide range of after school activities mainly run by teaching staff. About 10% of our students are supported by our integrated SEN unit.

The school is on a green 12 acre site about 20 minutes from the Singapore CBD and has specialist facilities including  libraries, ICT suites, The Link (makerspace), dance studio, swimming pool and sports hall. We recently opened a brand-new building to accommodate the increasing numbers of Secondary which boasts purpose-built Art, Drama, PE, Music and IT specialist spaces.

We are members of FOBISIA and CIS.  We are an EDEXCEL and AQA exam centre and are authorised by the IBO to deliver the IB Diploma Programme. We are the only school in Singapore to offer ASDAN courses.

Staff are well supported with weekly CPD sessions run in-house and access to external training courses where they fit the school and personal development plans. There is a strong ethos of professional collegiality.

About the role

DCIS Secondary seeks a teacher of the highest quality to continue to drive our Mathematics Faculty into the next exciting stage of its development. The ability to demonstrate a proven track record of success as well as demonstrating an understanding of our school context is essential.

The role will require the provision of day-to-day management and organisation of subject provision within the secondary school. The teacher, together with the Mathematics team will develop long-term secondary school strategies in relation to their subject to raise standards. 

We aim to recruit someone with tremendous drive and enthusiasm to provide a world-class education to our Secondary pupils.  Candidates should possess a commitment to helping our Secondary pupils achieve their maximum potential at GCSE and IB Mathematics as well as a desire to teach and lead in a truly inclusive school environment. Experience of a leading a department offering a range of curriculums, including IGCSE and IB is essential.

Candidates should also illustrate a capacity to help students achieve their absolute best as part of a team and a willingness to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of our school.

He/she must also be committed to his/her own professional development.

Selection Process
