We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic IB-trained teacher of Visual Arts to join our highly successful and supportive team in September 2020. Our school offers two distinct world-recognised programmes: the English International Programme (EIP) which leads to the IB Diploma Programme, and the French Baccalauréat with or without the OIB. In September 2020 we open our bilingual Early Years section to students from 3 years of age.

Benefits

The school pays competitive salaries in addition to stipends for extra responsibilities, 85% tuition remission, free loan of iPad, free weekly language classes (French or English), free 3-course lunch, free hot beverages and fruit throughout the day, opportunities to travel worldwide for professional development and when chaperoning trips.

Job Requirements

You will need to be a native (level) English speaker, hold a qualification relevant to the subject and have a minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience. Ideally, you are IB trained. You must demonstrate a commitment to working in a team and not be put off by a lot of hard work. You will instruct secondary students in the knowledge of the Visual Arts vocabulary and literacy in our international track as well helping them develop their own set of skills, by providing student daily hands-on activities creating art. Thorough excellent communication and great energy you will support the academic and personal growth of our students.

Our international, bilingual school places the wellbeing and the intellectual development of each student at the heart of every lesson, every strategy, and every decision we make.

We built our school on the principle that students must learn to ask difficult questions. We gave ourselves the goal to develop responsible, open-minded young people capable of taking on the challenges of an unpredictable world. We aim to develop their confidence and imagination through bilingual education. We strive to recruit and retain highly experienced international staff who take pride in every student’s progress and instil in everyone the profound joy of ambitious intellectual pursuits. Above all, the safe environment we have created celebrates the diversity of our families from all over the world and encourages invigorating conversations across cultures.

The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill occupies the site of the former Brent Town Hall, a 1930s Grade II-listed building in the late Art Deco style that was bought from Brent Council by the French Education Property Trust in 2012. The new campus is set over five acres, with 12,000 square metres of refurbished and purpose-built teaching spaces for the three levels of schooling:

  • Early Years/Primary: Nursery/Reception to Year 6
  • Lower Secondary: Years 7 to 10
  • Upper Secondary: Years 11 to 13

The campus boasts multiple onsite sports facilities including a running track, three outdoor grass pitches, and an indoor gymnasium. The newly-constructed annex building houses modern science classrooms and a large, bright canteen.
