Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Secondary School ICT Teacher to join our successful ICT Department in August 2022. The position includes general ICT at KS3, ICT and Computer Science at IGCSE and IB Computer Science and ITGS. The position may also include the head of department position.


Sandford International School is a Nursery to Year 13 international school in Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa. Sandford has over 1000 students from 50 different countries. Addis Ababa is a lively, vibrant city in one of the most historically and geographically exciting countries in Africa.


In Years 7 to 9, students follow a Curriculum based upon the English National Curriculum and Cambridge Secondary Students take Checkpoint examinations at the end of Year 9 in English, Mathematics and Science. In Year 10 and 11 students follow the two-year Cambridge IGCSE programme in 8 or 9 subjects. In Years 12 and 13 students prepare for the IB Diploma.


Applications are welcomed from experienced candidates. A first degree and a teaching certificate (PGCE or equivalent) is required. A minimum of two years experience in a similar school setting is an advantage. IGCSE and IB experience is preferred.
