ICT & Computer Science Teacher
Working Pattern: 3 days per week
Regent Independent College comprises of an independent co-educational secondary school and a sixth form, taking students from GCSE through to A-Level.

- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
- To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the subject area
- To contribute to the subject area’s Development Plan and its implementation
- To plan and prepare courses and lessons
- To attend all appropriate meetings

Teaching, Learning & Curriculum
- To assist the Subject Leader to ensure that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching which compliments the college’s strategic objectives.
- To assist in curriculum development and change to ensure continued relevance to the needs of students, examining and awarding bodies and the college’s aim.
- To take part in continuous professional learning.
- To maintain good subject knowledge and an awareness of excellent, current practice in teaching.
- To engage actively in the Performance Management and Review Process.
- To ensure the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support
- To work as a team member and contribute positively to effective working relations within the college.
- To communicate effectively with the parents of students as appropriate
- Where appropriate communicate and work with persons or agencies outside the school.
- To help implement quality procedures and adhere to them.
- To contribute to the process of monitoring and evaluation of the subject area in line with agreed procedures.
- To periodically review methods of teaching and programmes of work.
Management of Information
- To maintain appropriate records.
- To complete the relevant documentation to assist with the tracking of students.
- To track student progress and use information to inform teaching and learning.
Management of Resources
- To contribute to the process of the ordering and allocation of equipment and materials.
- To identify resource needs and contribute to the efficient use of physical resources.
- To work with colleagues to ensure resources are shared and effectively used to the benefit of the subject area and the students.
- To evaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date student records as may be required.
- To contribute to the preparation of Action Plans and progress files and other reports.
- To alert the appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.
- To liaise with other staff as appropriate in response to problems experienced by students across the curriculum.
- To teach students according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the student.
- To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and to keep such records as required.
- To provide, contribute to, oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students and groups of students.
- To ensure that ICT, Literacy and Numeracy are reflected in the teaching/learning experience of students.
- Comply with any reasonable request from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.
- Play a full part in the life of the school community and support its mission and ethos.
- Comply with the Schools Health & Safety policy and undertake risk assessments as appropriate.
- Be courteous to colleagues, visitors and telephone callers and provide a welcoming environment.
- Undertake duties before the school day, at break, at the end of the lunch period and after the school day on rota basis.
- Set cover work during any leave of absence.
