ICT and Computing Teacher

Due to ongoing success and growth in North West London, we're hiring an ICT/Computing teacher.

Red Balloon NWL is a unique workplace, providing support and empowerment to engage with young people and achieve professional goals, free from mainstream system constraints. We're a small, nurturing community, prioritising staff development and wellbeing as much as our students'.

At Red Balloon, we deliver full-time education for students who have self-excluded from mainstream schools for various reasons. Our methodology emphasises wellbeing at the core of students' education, focusing on mental health, personal growth, and positive social interactions along with academic instruction.

Students have an inherent right to respectful and caring treatment, independent of behavior or academic performance. Each member of our Centre family adheres to our policy of unconditional positive regard – everyone (staff or student) should always treat others with respect and dignity, no matter the situation.

Teaching occurs in small groups. Lessons are tailored to students' individual needs and interests. As a teacher, this offers a unique chance to truly know each student and support them individually.

All staff are invested in and actively participate in student wellbeing, integrating mental health support and personal growth throughout the day, not just in designated therapy sessions.

We offer academic instruction from Entry Level to GCSE in subjects aligned with students' interests or future plans. Almost all students study English, Maths, Science, and Art at a minimum, with most pursuing additional subjects in the center or online.
