We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to the post of ICT Systems Manager at our outstanding, selective grammar school. Are you an innovator and good communicator who recognises how to balance infinite demand with finite resources? Then this could be the post for you.

The ICT Systems Manager will manage and control the school’s Computer and Information Systems. They will also be expected to strategically plan for the development of future ICT services within the school and advise senior staff and governors on key decisions regarding the most effective and sustainable investment in ICT.

In addition the postholder will be expected to provide staff development and training for all staff to maximise the school’s e-learning and e-admin functions.

There will be line management and performance management responsibilities associated with this role for two ICT technicians to ensure highest standards of service from computer networks in meeting the needs of the whole school community.

In the current uncertain financial climate within the education sector it is important that all resources are deployed efficiently and effectively, observing the need to demonstrate value for money and to support the school in achieving the very best educational outcomes for its students.

This is a very important appointment in the school and the successful candidate would therefore be expected to have specific knowledge, experience and expertise as outlined in the enclosed Job Description. They will exercise considerable responsibility and influence and an appreciation of the need for flexible working, resilience and a keen sense of humour are essential.

It will certainly be a demanding role, however the postholder will be working with a strong, committed and mutually supportive team.

The successful candidate will work a full-time 52 week contract. Due to the nature of the post the working hours will be flexible and negotiated on appointment.

First established in 1589, Queen Elizabeth’s High School is a grammar school located in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The school has existed in its current guise as a co-educational grammar school since 1983, when the two single-sex schools merged into a single institution. A state grammar school, Queen Elizabeth’s is academically selective in its admissions but charges no fees for tuition. With around 1200 pupils on roll in a co-educational setting aged 11-18, the school is noticeably larger than most secondary schools, around 150 of these residing in the school sixth form. Queen Elizabeth’s has seen extensive modernisation and development over the years.
