Abbot Beyne School are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and inspiring Teacher of ICT to join us on our exciting journey from September 2025. If you are looking for a role which is the next stage of your career, this role is ideally suited as there is the option to lead IT across our Apple Distinguished School. Our mission is to deliver an outstanding level of education whilst maintaining the students’ best interests at our core. Applications are invited from qualified, highly motivated and talented teachers of ICT with a passion for their subject who want to improve themselves as a teacher and obtain the best outcomes for students.

Abbot Beyne School is an inclusive and aspirational school, focused on delivering high quality learning and teaching in a safe and nurturing environment. We are a Local Authority school and are not part of a Multi Academy Trust, although we do have strong links with many external providers. We have non-teaching Heads of Year to support behaviour. We ensure no teaching staff have to complete any duties, that they can take their PPA at home and have significantly reduced workload, including reduced marking. We want our staff to enjoy their work, challenge themselves and experience success. We are committed to developing the practice of all teachers. CPD is personalised to focus on an area of your practice that you want to develop and some directed CPD is flexible - allowing freedom to decide when and where to do it during the school year

We are growing our provision to offer more students in Burton a high quality Sixth Form experience supported by enrichment opportunities and mentoring. Our 75-minute lessons provide opportunities for active learning and deeper learning experiences. We integrate technology into all of our lessons and are one of fewer than 700 schools globally to have achieved Apple Distinguished School Status. All students have their own iPad, ensuring work is personalised and challenging, breaking down any barriers between home and school learning. We believe that once you teach in a school that uses iPads you will never want to work anywhere else. From a teacher’s perspective, iPads allow immediate, quality formative assessment and they reduce the time spent on planning and marking.
