Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher you will provide proactive first and second line support for the School community. Playing a central role in supporting every aspect of the school’s ICT Infrastructure and Network, maintaining and improving these elements while ensuring appropriate safeguarding is executed. You will express an efficient and effective customer service and problem-solving facility school wide, being one of the first lines of support for school staff, as well as students. You will also assist in all aspects relating to the support, care and maintenance of computing, audio visual, online services and software across the school, helping to diagnose and correct software and hardware problems, deploy new solutions for school users and monitor the systems the school relies upon.
Responsibilities
To provide first and second line support to students, staff and additional stakeholders, managing the daily operations of the school network, peripherals and software.
To assist with setting up, maintaining and repairing hardware, audio visual equipment and networking devices.
To install and configure software applications.
To assist with the upkeep of the school ICT asset management.
Produce and maintain ICT reports, checklists and other documentation as necessary.
To help maintain appropriate stock levels of peripherals and consumables and to raise purchase orders as necessary.
Maintain satisfactory standards of safety and security in relation to work spaces and equipment.
Pro-actively source solutions and further develop your own understanding of the role and its requirements.
To undertake any other relevant duties as may reasonably be requested by the ICT Network Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
Skillset + Experience
Experience providing first and second line support within an ICT Technician Role
Experience of Windows OS (Windows 10) and Windows Server operating environments
Experience of Windows SQL
Experience of Cisco Meraki or similar Network configurations
An understanding of Apple iOS, iOS MDM software and Apple mobile devices
Experience of MacOS and Apple hardware
Experience of Active Directory and Group Policy Management
Ability to carry out basic repairs to hardware and peripherals
Experience of maintaining a cohesive and organised network infrastructure
Ability to work calmly, carefully and quickly under pressure
