This brand-new role will deputise for the Designated Safeguarding Lead and provide cross campus support to the wellbeing teams as required. The Inclusion Lead will work collaboratively with the broader College to maximise and measure the impact of commissioned support services for students.

Working with the Curriculum and Enrichment Teams to collaboratively develop tutorial and enrichment resources to support the personal development of our learners.  Planning and delivering tutorials for learners with the aim of raising awareness of safeguarding and around specific themes to keep themselves safe.

As a key member of this busy, student focused team, in addition to fulfilling safeguarding reporting requirements both internally and externally, this role will work to continuously improve the effectiveness of communication and signposting mechanisms for the wellbeing service.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To review, existing and where necessary, draft new College policies and procedures relating to student wellbeing, including information for visitors and volunteers.
  • To plan and deliver regular Safeguarding CPD sessions and safeguarding bulletins for staff.
  • To lead on the ongoing development of the Wellbeing SharePoint site and the safeguarding area of the College Website.
  • To lead on the production of timely safeguarding reporting for the College and the Trust.
  • To lead on the coordination of the Prevent & Online Safety Risk Assessments & Action Plans for both the College and the Academy Trust.


Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • DSL Safeguarding or Advanced Safeguarding qualification equivalent 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding, child protection and vulnerable adults, and knowledge of Prevent
  • Experience of working within a student support function and of the range of services required to meet the changing needs of FE and HE learners
