Job overview

ASPIRE, GROW, SUCCEED

Are you passionate about student wellbeing, inclusion, and securing exceptional outcomes for all?

Would you like to move your career to the next level and join a team who are enthusiastic, committed and talented?

If so…we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on a key leadership role within our Key Stage 4, supporting some of our most vulnerable learners to succeed and thrive.

Working closely with the KS4 Director and the wider pastoral teams, you will lead high-impact interventions, co-ordinate alternative provision placements, and implement strategies that improve behaviour, attendance, academic progress, and personal development. Part of this role also involves working directly with students across key stages in our alternative provision setting - the ASPIRE unit - supporting their reintegration into mainstream education through personalised, evidence-based approaches.

This is a unique opportunity to:

  • Lead bespoke pastoral and academic interventions
  • Work with our ASPIRE team to co-ordinate high-quality alternative provision and reintegration support
  • Influence whole-school standards through training and mentoring
  • Work with a dedicated team in a supportive and ambitious school community

If you are committed to making a meaningful difference and thrive on supporting young people to overcome barriers to success, we would love to hear from you.

This role is 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 additional days.

Allerton Grange is a large and rapidly improving school, where students of all backgrounds and abilities are happy and make positive progress. We currently have 1700 students, with an intake of 300 students each year in Year 7.

We have an impressive school building, with a newly opened Sixth Form Centre, housing our diverse community of 260 post-16 students. Allerton Grange is located 4 miles from Leeds City Centre in an attractive area of privately owned residential properties.

Our increasing success is due to our rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum supported by four cornerstones: knowledge, literacy, aspirational enrichment and social mobility. We have high expectations of our students and they are keen to succeed. We give them every opportunity to know more, understand more, experience more and access more.

Every student is cared for as an individual; staff work relentlessly to ensure our students are safe, secure and happy. We have resourced provision for deaf and hearing impaired students. We also have a number of visually impaired students.

Our latest Ofsted inspection (February 2020) recognised the quality of provision we provide. They were particularly impressed by our curriculum and focus on staff wellbeing.

Ofsted quotes (February 2020)

“Parents and carers are very positive about the school. They say their children are happy and make good progress. We agree.”

“Leaders want every pupil to aim high and fulfil their potential. Leaders also aim to give pupils the skills to be successful in the modern world.”

“Staff feel valued and supported and proud to be working at Allerton Grange. They appreciate leaders’ efforts to make their workload manageable.”

At Allerton Grange, we challenge ourselves to continually improve and grow as a staff community. We welcome applications from motivated, knowledgeable people who align with our school ethos and strongly believe in social justice.
