Actual Salary - £23,478 - £26,167

37.5 hours per week, term time only + 5 days 


We are seeking to appoint an experienced pastoral worker who is a well organised, skilled and professional person to support students within the School. If you are passionate about young people, enjoy variety in your role and thrive on working in a busy environment this is a great opportunity for you.  The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, relate well to young people and possess Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent). 

Working as part of a team is a crucial aspect of the role within many different departments, so you must have a flexible attitude to react to different situations throughout the school day and the ability to use your own initiative within the learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• To implement the school’s engagement and behaviour policy.

• To proactively tackle pupil academic and non-academic indiscipline. This includes a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour that prevents learning, and all forms of bullying and harassment, thus ensuring students are flourishing in a safe environment. 

• To supervise our inclusion room with students who have been temporarily removed from a mainstream classroom setting. 

• To proactively engage families in non – attendance to school, looking to understand and remove barriers that are preventing attendance.

• Therapeutic intervention and behaviour intervention coordination.

• Act as a deputy DSL once suitable training has been completed.
