£35,571 to £38,250 a year. Upper Pay Range + SEN point dependent on relevant qualification.

Salary: Teachers UPS (£35,571 to £38,250) plus SEN Allowance (£2,085 to £4,116: 2nd SEN point dependent on relevant qualification)

Full Time Qualified Teacher of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Lancashire County Council is seeking to appoint 1.0fte and 0.4fte Specialist Inclusion teachers to join the SEND Learner Support team in the north of the county.

Specialist Inclusion teachers work within the graduated approach, including the education, health and care plan process, to ensure the best inclusive practice and provision for children and young people. Specialist Inclusion teachers are highly qualified and experienced in working with families, children and young people with SEND in a range of settings including homes, private, voluntary and independent early years settings, schools and F.E. colleges. As well as working with families and practitioners in a range of settings, Specialist Inclusion teachers are supported in their work by a team of higher level teaching assistants.

The successful candidates will be fully Qualified Teachers and ideally would have an additional SEN qualification. They will be required to have extensive knowledge of early years and SEND provision from 0-25. Along with other candidates, Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired, with experience of working across the 0-25 age range, and Teachers with additional knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with physical difficulties are encouraged to apply.

In addition the successful candidate will be:

  • Committed to their own professional development and be willing to contribute to the development of the SEND service as part of the wider professional team.
  • Committed to providing a high standard of service to children with complex needs and to their families and settings.
  • An enthusiastic and creative team player with experience of multi-agency working.
