Term Time only plus 5 days - 37 hours per week

The White Rose Academies Trust is looking to appoint a talented individual to join our team at Progress at City Central (P@CC) Alternative Provision.  The provision is based at Leeds City Academy in a contemporary, spacious setting.   Progress @ City Central (P@CC) is the White Rose Academies Trust alternative provision based at Leeds City Academy. The provision was set up to provide a short term or part time alternative to the mainstream setting for some of our SEMH learners or those who are at risk of exclusion.

The P@CC team currently has the capacity for 25 full time equivalent places for Year 8-11 students from the three host academies.

You will either be a qualified teacher, or someone with extensive experience of teaching Science and/or Math’s to students with a range of complex needs or challenging behaviour. There will be on-going training to develop our work with challenging young people.

The provision is designed as an intervention programme for KS3 and KS4 learners who are having difficulties within mainstream school.  The aim is to offer the students a respite and work on behaviour and personal development as well as maintaining studies in English, Math’s and Science.  Students work together in small groups and have the opportunity for one to one support where appropriate.

The White Rose Academies Trust is a Leeds based trust made up of Leeds West, Leeds East and Leeds City Academies, and is sponsored by Leeds City College.  Even though you would be part of a small group of staff at the provision, you would have access to the resources, training and support available across the three academies.

Values and vision

The Academy has established a unique, positive, and transformative ‘In Partnership’ culture which truly sets the school apart from others. This culture is founded and bult upon six key values that each drive and permeate everything the Academy does: behaviour, relationships and strategic decision making. The Academy In Partnership values are affectionally referred to as the DNA of Leeds City Academy and this is something the wonderful students, staff, parents and community are immensely proud of. The Academy strongly believe that their vision and strong culture will help not only to transform the lives of young people but transform the local communities which they so passionately serve.

The Academy has enjoyed an impressive period of transformation across the last 4 years and was judged as ‘Good’ overall by OFSTED in April 2019, securing an Outstanding judgement for the quality of Leadership and Management. The report commented that ‘Exceptional leadership from the highly skilled senior leadership team has improved all aspects of the school since the last inspection. The school’s culture is now inclusive and aspirational. Pupils develop the resilience needed to rise to the challenges set by staff. The school has been transformed and its overall effectiveness improved.’

We continue this journey of transformation and are determined to provide an exceptional quality of education and culture for all students at Leeds City Academy, with the ambition that all students excel both academically and as aspirational and inspirational young people. There is no better time to join Leeds City Academy, as a colleague, a leader or as a student.
