Townsville Catholic Education invites applications for the position of Indigenous Education Adviser based in Townsville. The Indigenous Education Adviser works under the Director of Catholic Identity and Indigenous Education Services and supports schools in providing Indigenous students with quality Catholic education. The position is part of the Service Team Outreach of the Townsville Education Office which includes an Education Consultant, Curriculum Adviser and Religious Education Adviser.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Desirably five years teaching experience

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in effective pedagogy to achieve successful school outcomes for Indigenous students
  • Experience in working in educational partnerships with Indigenous communities.
  • Competency in preparing and presenting professional development an in adult learning situation
  • A knowledge to support teachers in cultural awareness, reconciliation and Indigenous perspectives across the curriculum
  • Appropriate skills in preparing and leading various Indigenous projects and events for schools

Commencing:

ASAP

Salary Range:

$98,322 - $110,663
