Haut-Lac is a unique school with a truly bilingual approach to education. It offers both Swiss and International students the choice between a variety of programmes, amongst them the prestigious IBDP and IBMYP. As a pioneer in digital education, Haut-Lac takes pride in its modern teaching practices, and as such is a candidate school for the IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP) in September 2020.

The future of education is ever changing, and we are a school that prides itself on staying ahead of the trend and offering not only a quality education, but a lively school community atmosphere.

For the school year 2010-21, we are looking to appoint:

• A primary school SENCO

• A secondary school SENCO

To work closely (principally in the mainstream classroom) with  our teaching teams in order to appropriately support students with mild to medium learning disabilities as well as support teachers with teaching strategies adapted to the students’ needs. The post will include a 50% teaching load.

The applicants should be:

• English or French speakers (C2 level) with a good working knowledge of the second language (C2 level). 

•A highly experienced Individual Needs specialist able to provide students with the skills to manage their challenges in the long term

• Experienced in training teachers to support IN students in the mainstream classroom

• Experienced in managing teachers, parents and students 

• A qualified teacher, able to teach general subjects or language, or humanities

• An educator with experience of teaching in an international context; for the Secondary school, experience of IB programmes is preferred

In addition, the applicant should:

• Be an effective communicator with excellent organizational and ICT skills

• Be empathetic

• Be hard working with experience of students below grade level to high potential learners.

• Have knowledge on how to assess students using the appropriate tools and be able to interpret academic and psychological testing

• Be able to understand and plan for any academic and/or physical challenges that could impact a students’ academic performance.

The Primary school campus and extensive whole-school sport facilities were completed in 2014. It is situated close to the secondary school in St-Légier, and comprises classrooms, specialist art and music rooms, a library, a uniform shop, a teaching kitchen and numerous offices. Modern facilities at the secondary campus include specialist IT rooms and Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology linked to a laser cutter and plastic former in the tech lab. Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz is located in the canton of Vaud, and has a total population of approximately 5,000.
