Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL) is one of Sweden’s most renowned schools, with its historical roots dating back to the 1920s.  Located just north of Stockholm, SSHL is a boarding school that currently has just under two hundred boarders and around four hundred and fifty day students with representation from around forty five different countries.  Working very much within a Swedish conception of international education, SSHL offers students two clear routes through the school; via the IB MYP and DP programme, as well as through the Swedish National Curriculum from Year 7 upwards. 

Our ambition is to constantly work for the pupil’s best.

SSHL is now seeking applications for an IB MYP Individuals and Societies teacher (100%) - this role will involve working with MYP2-4 students, continuing to develop and deliver an integrated humanities programme (Geography, History, Civics and Religion) and also working on developing an specific MYP5 course with a focus on Economics/and or Business.

Your profile:

Ideally, you will hold qualified teacher status or similar and have experience working in an independent or international school setting.

As a person you will be resilient, flexible and structured. You will be able to develop positive relationships with all members of the school community and you will be committed to delivering a high quality educational experience.  The desire to take responsibility and the capacity to adopt a solution-oriented approach to your work is vital, as is the ability to manage time effectively. 

The position is available from August 10, 2016.

This is a unique method, which teaches pupils to find their own path through school work by creating self insight and a belief in one’s own abilities. Motivation is in itself the driving force. Particular emphasis is then placed on appropriate individual working methods and effective study techniques.
