
Industry Placement Coordinator

The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College is a thriving, lively and successful Sixth Form College, committed to social inclusion. The College is located in an award-winning, state of the art building at the heart of the University Quarter of Stoke on Trent, adjacent to Stoke Railway Station, providing excellent travel links. In September 2017, the College achieved academy status as part of the Potteries Educational Trust. The Trust is working collaboratively with educational institutions from across Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, seeking to improve outcomes for all children and young people in the region. In October 2017, Ofsted Inspectors graded the College ‘Good’ with several excellent features and praised staff and students for creating a supportive learning community. Inspectors were impressed with the relentless focus on continuing to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, leading to our learners making good or excellent progress. Industry Placement Coordinator
Full Time, Whole Year, Temporary (first instance)

The Industry Placement Coordinator will be part of the Colleges Higher, Technical and Vocational education team to raise awareness amongst prospective students, their parents and schools of the post 16 opportunities available at the College. The successful candidate will coordinate our young people’s Industry placements that are a crucial part of the new T levels while they are at the College and to help prepare our students on the T level transition programme to undergo these in future.
The post holder will engage with local and regional employers to ensure there are enough placements sourced to accommodate need from applicants to T level courses. The Co-coordinator will ensure employers are aware of, and compliant with, relevant legislation, best practice guidance with regards to having T level students on site with them.
In addition, the post holder will ensure young people are representing the college well and developing the requisite skills as part of the Industry placement.
