Job overview

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to develop and support the learning and wellbeing of all our Initial Teacher Training Trainees and subject mentors.

Reporting to the Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education, this is a senior role and represents an exciting opportunity to be part of something special, developing and supporting trainees and subject mentors across our school.

The successful candidate will playing a significant role in influencing the outcomes of students, by communicating your passion for culture, curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment across the school, leading by example, and offering whole school CPD and training where appropriate.

To be effective in this role, you will be required to have;

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status QTS.
  • Deep understanding of and passion for classroom culture, curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Experience in mentoring and development of Initial Teacher Trainees.
  • Understanding of and engagement with research around effective teacher development.
  • Clear understanding of the Early Career Framework.
  • Excellent track record of high attainment and progress.
  • Excellent subject knowledge.
  • Excellent classroom behaviour management.
  • Effective management of other adults.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to enthuse and motivate others.
  • Understanding of and passion for Lawn Manor Academy and our approaches to education.

 Desirable

  • Experience in more than one school.
  • Teacher of core.
  • Experience in leading one or more curriculum area, including identifying needs, planning and monitoring standards.
  • Experience of leading staff teams/curriculum development and measuring progress.
  • Experience of self-evaluation.
  • To have undertaken coaching training, NPQLTD or similar.

Lawn Manor Academy is proud to be part of Ascend Learning Trust. We were the first school to join ALT in September 2017 and we enjoy close links with all ALT schools.
