Job overview

Cambridge, Hybrid (May be required to attend the office on a weekly basis)

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

 About the role

This is an exciting and challenging new role for someone who is strongly interested in applying a range of insights to learning and assessment products. You will be working within the Insight Application team, within Product Insight & Ideation, Propositions, taking responsibility for research projects and the application of research insights into our content development. The main focus of the role is to effectively apply insights and develop capabilities and relationships that support product innovation.

At the core of our approach to ELT product development is the application of research-based insights into language learning to the design of materials and course methodology. The research programme will be determined by our portfolio priorities and will be very varied and fast-moving. The Insight Application team includes specialists in linguistic and pedagogical research, and we are looking for an experienced Insight Application Manager to join our team.

A key part of the role is management of projects as well as direct involvement in research. This role requires you to work collaboratively within a team in Cambridge and globally and you will be responsive to their needs and the needs of the business.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience of both research projects and of ELT teaching. Experience with developing materials would also be very useful.

The main focus of the role is on research into what supports effective language learning and ensuring that pedagogy and research insights are applied to product and proposition development. An understanding of academic issues around research is essential, as is an awareness of the commercial context within which we work.

You will need to be a great collaborator, working well in teams, and with good project management skills. In addition, we are looking for someone who can communicate the outcomes of research projects effectively and persuasively – to publishing teams, to teachers and to other researchers.

The organisation has four values all our colleagues live by; collaborationempowermentinnovation, and responsibility

Rewards and benefits

We will support you to be at your best in work and to live well outside of it. In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a world-class, flexible rewards package, featuring family-friendly and planet-friendly benefits including:

  • Group personal pension scheme
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Life assurance up to 4 x annual salary
  • Private medical and Permanent Health Insurance
  • Green travel schemes
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

We also offer flexible and hybrid working options from day one. We will consider any work arrangements if you wish to work flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability.

Ready to pursue your potential? Apply now.

The closing date for applications is 16th April 2023. Interviews will be held w/c 24th April 2023.

We may hold interviews on a rolling basis. In the event we source a suitable applicant ahead of the original closing date, we reserve the right to close the advert early. Please do not delay applying to avoid disappointment.
