Instructor Demonstrator in Art and Design - Hyfforddwr Arddangoswr

At Coleg Cambria we are now looking for an Instructor Demonstrator to join the Art and Design Team at our site in Yale, Wrexham

In your new role as an Instructor Demonstrator, you will be based within the Memorial Art Gallery/building. The main purpose of your role is to support the Creative Arts curriculum, to provide a visual learning resource, primarily for Art & Design students to act as a reference point for them to explore in their practical and written work. You will be required to deliver practical sessions to students, supervise and instruct students within the practical aspects of programmes and undertake any other routine duties as required.

You will also be required to oversee the gallery programme, deliver formal scheduled practical instruction and demonstrations to students and prepare a schedule of practical activities from information given to you by the Deputy Directors and Lecturers.

The ability to assist in monitoring the overall progress of students by assessing the competence and progress in practical activities, is also an essential part of this role. You will also be responsible for monitoring the behaviour of students within practical sessions, and creating a caring and supportive environment for all students.

It is highly desirable to have a degree level qualification in an Art and Design related subject, you will also have recent industry experience within a relevant area.

It is also essential for you to be able to demonstrate an understanding MAC and PC software including Photoshop and Illustrator. Demonstrating that you are committed to keeping up with current developments within your own specialist area is also an essential part of this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable

This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for the successful applicant
