Let’s be honest, in October 2016 our school was graded ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted and placed into special measures… We know where we stand and have high aspirations and a rigorous plan to turn the school around to a grading of ‘good’ within two years… With 3 positive monitoring inspections and our best results in 3 years - Get on board and make a real difference to our children and to your career.

We are looking to recruit a committed support professional to join our Teaching and Learning support team as our new Prep Instructor. This is an exciting new innovation in our curriculum model and a brilliant opportunity to join us in promoting excellence and resilience in our students. Our new prep lesson is built in time to work silently, reflectively and commit to memory the knowledge and skills needed to be successful both in the short term and as adults in the long term. Each year group in the Academy will have dedicated prep time in which to develop their subject knowledge and complete homework tasks.

We actively welcome applications from colleagues within education as well as those coming from other areas. Aspiring graduates looking to train in the future as a teacher are also encouraged to apply.

You will:

  • Have excellent Maths and English skills (GCSE Maths/English A*-C) or equivalent.
  • Have experience of working in a school environment and have confidence and experience of working with young people.
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative and a positive attitude towards school and procedures
  • Be committed to supporting student learning and good behaviour
  • Have experience of working with children on a one to one basis or in small groups
  • Ideally have knowledge and understanding of children’s needs

We can offer:

  • A culture where we will encourage you to be enterprising, forward thinking and play an active part in our school improvement
  • Committed teams of staff at all levels

We have started the new academic year strongly following our best set of results in three years. We have doubled our Basics measure of English & Maths GCSE grade C and above and we have seen a significant increase in the number of students staying with us into sixth form.  After a period of instability at the Academy we are pleased to say that our journey of improvement is well underway.  We have been joined by some outstanding teachers who will help us ensure that our Year 11 and sixth form students achieve even better results in 2017. We are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum, inspiring and effective teaching, supportive structures and a positive environment for our learners.

As  the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, pension scheme and childcare vouchers.
