Due to an increase in student numbers, South Lincolnshire Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and enthusiastic Food Technology practitioners - one to work at Giles Academy in Old Leake. The successful candidate will teach across the age range, including examination groups.
This is an exciting opportunity for instructors, ECTs or experienced teachers to join a thriving and highly motivated Trust (all our ECTs are well supported by an excellent induction programme).
No previous teaching experience is required although you should possess a relevant degree with a view to pursuing a teaching career. For the right candidate, the Trust would be prepared to sponsor teacher training.
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to teach GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition;
- The ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results;
- Excellent organisational and ICT skills;
- An awareness of effective assessment and use of data to track student progress;
- The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team;
- A passion for the subject and the ability to share this with young people.

Giles Academy is an oversubscribed non-selective mixed 11-16 secondary school and joined South Lincolnshire Academies Trust in September 2020.
- The school has over 850 students with a pupil admission number (PAN) of 180.
- The school is performing ABOVE national average (based on a Progress 8 score of +0.08 in 2023).
- Giles Academy is the top performing school locally in the Boston area (along with Cowley Academy) and outperforms local grammar schools.
- In May 2023, Ofsted graded the school as Good with outstanding features. Prior to joining the Trust in 2020, Giles Academy was previously graded Inadequate in 2019 and requiring special measures. Under the Trust leadership, the school has made incredible progress.
