INSTRUMENTAL TUTORS - Violin/Upper Strings (one full day per week)

Thomas Middlecott Academy is now recruiting for 2 Instrumental Tutors specialised in Violin/Upper Strings - Fixed Term One Year.  This role could be your next career opportunity.

The Music Department is beginning a three-year relationship with the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST), which provides us with support to ensure all students in Key Stage 3 are able to learn an orchestral instrument. The MiSST programme will start in September 2023 with all 140 Year 7 students and teachers learning the violin, with further instruments being offered as the programme develops.

About the role

Fixed Term for 1 year, working 1 full day a week

• To ensure all students make good progress on their instruments
• To be responsible for leading instrumental groups
• To support the work of the class teacher and the music programme
• To be enthusiastic, encouraging and empathetic towards our students
• To demonstrate a high level of performance skills and competence
• To regularly assess students within the agreed framework
• To prepare students for ABRSM or equivalent examinations
• To ensure students are well rehearsed for performances
