37 hours a week. County Hall, Preston.

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the promotion of the current post-holder, for applications to the post of Integrated Assessment and Monitoring (IA&M) Team Manager, South Area, Lancashire County Council Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Service.

The post holder has overall responsibility for a team responsible for the assessment, monitoring and review of children and young people, aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities through Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and at Special Educational Need (SEN).

The post is becoming vacant towards the end of the transfer of Statements of SEN to EHCPs as Lancashire begin the implementation of new ways of working with children, young people, parent/carers and partners, including health, social care and education providers. This will involve the development of effective co-production with children, young people and parent/carers; the introduction of a new electronic recording system for SEND; developing stronger engagement with schools and other education providers; and promoting best possible outcomes and the effective preparation for adulthood for young people with SEND.

The South IA&M Team Manager will form part of the management team in the South SEND area which also includes a specialist social work team, specialist teacher service and educational psychology service; and part of the strategic management team with county responsibilities and the ability to influence future developments.

The post directly reports to the South Area Senior Manager and has direct management responsibility for 2 Senior SENDO's and a Senior Caseworker who manage 20 staff overall. The post is based at County Hall, Preston but involves agile and flexible working with a need to travel across Lancashire to schools and the other two area office bases.
