This is a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months with possibility of extension.

About Westminster Kingsway College:

Westminster Kingsway is an award-winning further education college in central London with centres in Camden and Westminster. The College offers a huge array of academic and vocational courses from entry levels right through to HE for young and adult learners. These include foundation learning, A-Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Access to Higher Education, and Degree Programmes. The College also works closely with all stakeholders and offers bespoke training and development programmes.

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic manager with excellent leadership and communication skills, to drive improvement. You will be responsible for day-to-day logistics, coordination, and implementation of a range of strategies designed to improve teaching and learning, quality, attendance, retention, and achievement rates. You will be able to work well with support departments to complete tasks. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to act flexibly to adapt to frequently changing work priorities in a highly pressurised environment. You will be an enthusiastic, inspiring, and inclusive manager, with demonstrable experience of leading and motivating teams. You will have an excellent working knowledge of MS Office and a keen eye for attention to detail to produce high quality and accurate information.   

The ideal candidate will possess all or most of the following:

  • Substantial teaching experience, some of which should be in Further Education
  • Experience of leading a team/tutoring experience
  • Ability of working in highly pressurised environments
  • Curriculum leadership/coordination experience
  • Up to date knowledge of the relevant subject area
  • Good pedagogic practice
  • Relevant assessors’ awards or a willingness to work towards these
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults
