Hours/Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term position until 31 May 2022: 37.5 hours per week, all year round

The Role:  An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Trust as Interim Head of Finance, reporting to the Interim Director of Finance.  The Interim Head of Finance will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts, forecasts, budgets and other financial analysis as required to support the strategic development of schools and the Trust. The post-holder will take responsibility for the provision of sound financial advice to all academies to facilitate informed decision-making and to ensure robust financial management Trust-wide. The Interim Head of Finance will line manage the Financial Controller and the Executive Business Managers, while overseeing the development of the Shared Service Centre.

The Person: This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Head of Finance to work with a proactive and dynamic Trust on an interim bases to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the growth of the Trust, working in a close-knit, experienced team.

The role will suit a highly motivated, well organised and proactive individual who can demonstrate both exceptional accounting technical skills but also have solid experience in team management, budget setting and business partnering.  It is ideal for someone who is looking to develop their career further and join a Trust that values continuous improvement and collaboration. The successful applicant will gain invaluable experience in all aspects of financial accounting and management and be instrumental in enhancing the Finance Shared Service for the Trust.

You will be a professionally qualified member of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) and will have at least five years post qualification experience. Experience of working within the Academies Sector is desirable, but not essential.
