Intervention Mentor (English and Maths)
To start September 2017 - Fixed term (one year)
Arnold Hill Academy is an inspirational place to work with excellent academic and sporting facilities. The large academy campus is located in a pleasant, suburban area of Nottingham and has benefitted from the opening of our brand new building with facilities which would be the envy of any school.
We are looking to appoint an English and Maths Intervention Assistant to work with both the English and Maths Faculties at Arnold Hill Academy, supporting pupils who require additional intervention to access areas of the curriculum.
The person appointed will:
· Contribute to the identification and selection of small groups of targeted students and work with them delivering intervention strategies to improve literacy and numeracy, adapting resources to ensure all students are able to make progress within this group.
· Work with teachers and others on curriculum and/or student development teams to secure co-ordinated outcomes. Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned students.
· Support the transition of students with low levels of literacy and numeracy from primary schools.
You will be a highly motivated individual who may be looking for experience of working in a school before embarking on a teaching career, a teacher from either the primary or secondary sector or be experienced in learning support and looking for a new challenge.
Arnold Hill Academy is part of The Trent Academies Group which includes Rushcliffe School in West Bridgford and The Farnborough Academy in Clifton, and is continuing to grow. Trent Academies Group is committed to providing high quality training and development opportunities for all staff. We are fully committed to fostering a love of learning in all pupils and certainly play a significant part in ensuring that ‘Everyone is given the chance to shine brightly.’
