As a result of a recent resignation and a growing need, we are seeking to appoint Intervention Instructor(s) to support selected students. The role is to provide small groups of interventions to a range of students to achieve their full academic achievement in Maths. Working closely with subject teachers and other associated staff you will assist in identifying barriers to learning, and plan and deliver intervention sessions in order to raise aspirations and achievement.
The hours of work are flexible with a maximum of 18 hours per week. Therefore, please specify in your letter of application the hours of work you are seeking.
The successful candidate will have:
Successful experience working with children in a school environment
Educated to at least Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent qualification /experience
Relevant experience / qualification in the specific subject area –Maths
Ability to establish rapport and to maintain respectful and trusting relationships
The ability to overcome barriers to learning with children by implementing school policies, procedures and identified support mechanisms
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
A passion to improve learning and work collaboratively with teaching staff to aid the progress of all students and develop their confidence
Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
A good understanding of Health and Safety, safeguarding and child protection
A commitment to equality and diversity and inclusion
